I began my artistic endeavors by acting with a community theatre in a small town in Wisconsin. The company's name? The Rebel Alliance, which would prove to be the most appropriate chapter title for all the adventures I would embark on thereafter. I studied at Marquette University where I received a BA in Technical Theatre, with an emphasis on directing, stage management, and design.
Ever since, I have been a keenly committed journey, combining my rebellious history and eccentric world views into the realm storytelling: from directing and acting, to production management and design, to arts administration and teaching -- and everything in between.
I firmly believe art is a necessary antidote for the heaviness of everyday life, and that we would all live in very different world if we embraced our creativity to enact change. After all, you can move mountains by shifting small rocks at a time.
In the end, I want nothing more than to give back to the community which has nurtured me and many young artists like me, and to help keep the arts alive. You are an artist if you choose to be.
Pass it on, pay it forward.
